What this licence allows

  • Expanding the floor area below, at the same level and/or above an existing building, or enclosing other areas so the building external dimensions/cubic content increase. May include a balcony.
  • All building classes, with no height limit.

Qualifications

Pathway 1

  • Complete an Australian-based trade apprenticeship (for example Carpentry & Joinery or Bricklaying).
  • CPCCBC5003 - Supervise the planning of on-site building and construction work
  • CPCCBC5010 - Manage construction work
  • CPCCBC6001 - Apply building codes and standards to the construction process for large building projects
  • CPCCBC6014 - Apply structural principles to the construction of large, high-rise and complex buildings
  • Satisfactorily complete the Work History & Onsite Experience Record with at least four years experience and five completed projects relevant to the scope.

Pathway 2

  • Hold CPC40120 Certificate IV in Building and Construction, or a related higher-level qualification, without a trade qualification.
  • Satisfactorily complete the Work History & Onsite Experience Record with at least five years experience and five completed projects relevant to the scope.

Pathway 3

  • Satisfactorily complete the Work History & Onsite Experience Record with at least six years experience and five completed projects relevant to the scope.

Pathway 4

  • Have held an equivalent registration within the 12 months before the application.
