What this licence allows

  • Electrotechnology systems incidental to electrical-wiring work involving mechanical-fitting disconnection and reconnection.

Qualifications

General restricted-electrical requirement: applicants must provide the prescribed letter of need identifying the principal trade and why incidental electrical work is required. This occupation class is not applicable to automotive mechanics.

Method 1

  • An accepted mechanical-services trade certificate, Certificate III in Data and Voice Communications UEE30420/UEE30411, an accepted Certificate III/IV/V in Electronics and Communications (UEE30920, UEE40720, UEE50520, UEE30911, UEE40711, UEE50511, UEE30411), or an equivalent certificate of competency.
  • Also complete UEERL0004 and UEERL0005 (or equivalent) within the previous 5 years; where UEERL0004 is used, UEERL0001 is also required; and provide a letter of need.

Method 2

  • Previously held this restricted licence or an ACT Unrestricted Electrical Licence within the previous 5 years, provided the previous licence was not affected by the disqualifying disciplinary conditions.
